This week has literally been crazy! More things happened and went wrong than I can even count. It started on Friday night. My right eye was super red! I didn't know what was going on. Saturday it wasn't any better and I was starting to get worried. (We then had a good time in Lexington as I mentioned in my last blog). My family was out of reach all Labor Day weekend which was hard for me. But thank you to all the people that texted me and called me!
Then there was Sunday. I was already for some spiritual uplift.. but no. We had, according to my dad, a first few week missionary guilt session. All sacrament meeting was about repentance and then third hour was all about excommunication and the steps the church takes. Which is good information for all of us to know.. but doesn't make for that great of church. We all walked out of there exhausted and totally drained!
Starting Monday or Tuesday we started to find all of these bugs in our room. Virginia has soo many bugs! I am fine with them outside, but once they cross the threshold into my room, I am not okay!
I think it was Tuesday when my friend Anna, came into my room asking if she could put an ice pack in my fridge. She preceded to tell me how she found this bump by her rib that was all bruised. She thinks she remembers her dorm door (which is insanely heavy!) falling into her side when she was carrying something. She went to the nurse and showed her her side and was informed that she may have a bruised or cracked rib. She was in a lot of pain but there wasn't much we could do for her! I felt awful! She couldn't sleep very well at night and she had to take a lot of Advil.
On Wednesday, I walked with my friends down to dinner. I gave the lady my key to swipe so I could get food. She looks at me, tells me to turn around, and then tells me my shirt is "barley see through" so I needed to change. I had been let in all day! The shirt I was wearing wasn't even see through. It had lace on the top (which my undershirt was under it). Apparently the way the sleeve fell, slightly revealed the strap of my undershirt. So I stormed back up the hill, stairs, and second small hill, across the parking lot, down the hall, back to my room to change! I JUST WANTED FOOD! I am very thankful that our school enforces the dress code, because it does keep the spirt here (which I even mentioned in a job interview. Keep reading!) But my shirt, which I can move the sleeve, should be totally okay! I really am still upset about it. Especially because all she said was that I could go get a cardigan to put over it and it would be fine.....
Also on Wednesday. I was finally in bed at a reasonable time trying to finish reading my assigned sections of the Iliad. All of the sudden I hear an alarm from upstairs. Then it hits our floor! It was piercing! We were having a fire drill! So out the door I went in my pajamas. I was all warm and comfortable. But safety first I guess. The best part was, right as we all head out there. The pizza guy should up and didn't know what to do. I think someone ordered pizza, but we don't know.
Here is a picture of us standing around outside.
On Thursday, we decided to go walk down to find the public library. Rebekah needed to go into town to get information about a prescription anyway, so Rebekah, Ewa and I all went down. It was so HOT! We were going to die! After my GPS took us to far (we don't know whats wrong with my GPS on my phone) we turned around and finally found the library! It was just on the other side of an old city building. Its really small but very very cute! The bad part of this day? Well when I left to go with them, I realized I had left my key in my room. I was locked out with no way back in to get my key. I texted my roommate and asked her if she could meet me up there at 5, so all was well.
Here is the Library, and some pictures of Buena Vista.
On Friday, you all got to see Sutton... That wasn't fair. I am mad.
On Saturday some of us needed some things from Walmart. So we got in my car and drove to the store. Again the day was so hot and miserable that none of us wanted to do anything! We all shopped around and got a lot of snacks and more games! Yes we did get some other more important things that we really did need as well. We loaded everything into my car and get in. I am sitting in the drivers seat typing in the address for the school when a shopping cart rams my car!! We all look ed around and tried to figure out what happened. I thought it might have just rolled from the cart stall across the way, but Rebekah said that a guy pulled out, hit the shopping cart, which rolled into my car! I got out and observed the damage. On the drivers side in the front I now have a nice dent.... UGH!
Was there any good?
Through all of this week there have been some good/ funny things that happened. Elizabeth said that she had some packages at the mail center. Her mom had sent over her winter clothes. I drover her down so we could put them in the car and not carry them up the hill and stairs. Now I thought she was only going to have like 2 or 3 packages. We get there and she has 6! Quote from Elizabeth. "Sorry I am so loved!" Well we carried the packages from the center to the car which was an adventure! Here they all are stuffed in my car.

Elizabeth and I were also sitting at lunch the other day when a girl came by and asked if she could sit. She set down her bag and then went to get food. A minute or two later she comes back, picks up her bag, and leaves to go sit with other people. We totally understand going to sit my friends if you found them! But leaving without saying anything.. It was weird!
Wednesday night, before the fire drill, we all couldn't handle more school work. So what do we do? What a Disney Channel Original movie! Thank you Lemonade Mouth!
On Wednesday the school sent out an email saying that the Call Center was hiring. So some of us filled out an application, and went to their meeting on Thursday. Friday we had interviews which went really well! It turns out that the boss went to Timpview and knows Lynn and Reid! He also served with Reid on his mission! Reid I am going to call you to ask you about this. He even told me a story about you! I felt good about the interview and Saturday was offered the job! Basically I call perspective students to recruit them to come here, and Alumni to see if they want to donate to our school. I can chose what days I come in, how long I work each week, and they will keep me all 4 years im here if I would like! It was truly a blessing!
At Walmart, Rebekah bought Uno-Dare! It is so much fun! When there is a draw two or wild, there is also a dare that you can preform! We all definitely needed the laughs!
Every Friday we have a devotional or forum. The whole school is invited and no classes or building is open during 11-12. This week we had President Eyerings brother and his wife come to speak with us. (They are also the Washington DC visitors center presidents). Their message was incredible and Sister Eyering also plays the violin. She won Miss Utah in the late 60s and won the talent competition at Miss America. She played some amazing songs! It was awesome!
Lastly, we saw the first signs of fall!!! I am so ready for cooler weather, sweaters, and all the leaves to change colors!
I hope everyone had a good week! I love you all! Thank you for everyone that checks in on me and for all your support. It always brightens my day and makes me feel loved! (Even when all of you go and see Sutton without me. That one won't be forgiven.)
