Labor Day Weekend Fun!

This was a very fun weekend! We decided to go on an adventure Saturday. So in the afternoon we drove 15 minutes to Lexington. It is the cutest old town ever. I heard of a bookstore that I wanted to find and I needed to take them to the Gelato shop that my family visited a year or so ago. So once we found the free parking garage, we headed out on to the street and started to walk down main street. We first found one bookshop. This is a newer store with a giant kids section! Also a cat lives there!

We then kept walking and found the store that I had looked up! It had books everywhere! The shelves were really tall and books were on the ground and piled high! It has new books and second hand books and old books! We stayed in there for a very very long time!

We then (after my gps sent us in the wrong direction) found the gelato shop!! It was delicious! Here is a picture of my friends! So starting in the back from left to right: Elizabeth, and Ewa (pronounced Eva but with the "e" making the same sound as it does in elephant). In front, left to right: Anna (pronounced like in Frozen, me, and Rebecca). These girls are seriously the cutest! The two in back are from California, Anna is from Virginia, and Rebecca is from Utah.

Next we went to McDonalds for dinner, and then watched chick flicks in my room! It was great!

Another side note: I went and bought Bananagrams, because I love that game! And we have played it everyday!!!! We are all addicted!

Here in Buena Vista they take Labor Day pretty seriously. On Monday morning we woke up to go participate in the Labor Day parade! Ewa, Elizabeth and I decided we would go walk in the parade so we could see the town, and just because the Upperclassman said we should walk in it.

The Parade was so big, there was even an elephant!! :)

It was super hot, so that wasn't to great. I thought the best part was at the end. We walked across town and ended at this park. Our school has about 4, 12 passenger vans. So we hopped in one to get taken back to school. We ended up with like 17 people in one van! It was hilarious! We all would have to lean on the turns so the car didn't flip over!

We came back and did homework for the rest of the day till 6. We then had our first ward FHE night. Instead of splitting into our 4 families, we did a whole bunch of competition games as a whole ward. Here is a picture I took at one point, it wasn't very good though.

There were fireworks that night which we just watched from our dorm. They were partly hidden by trees, but it was good. I have never heard of a town that takes Labor Day so serious.

I hope everyone had a good weekend! I am missing you all greatly! But I love all the calls and texts I have been receiving! Love you!
