Mom and Camille! October 12-18

Monday was kind of a rough day. Kadee and Jeremiah and I did go on an adventure to Lexington though! FHE was good. And Fall is coming!!

Tuesday was the temple trip. I drove a full car of girls. I ended up not going into the temple. I spent the day at the visitors center and I got to watch Meet the Mormons! That is a really great movie. It made me remember all the good the gospel brings. We ate lunch at Cafe Rio and then drove home. I ended up in Reva's apartment doing homework then I went with Cody Rogers while he drove the dorm loop shuttle for a bit because I wanted to vent! HAHA

Writing this post makes me really want Cafe Rio again!

Wednesday was a good day! Like a really good day! I just felt good about a lot of things. It was my longest day because I had my late class but it was good! Kadee and I did spend a few hours doing homework and people watching in the rocking chairs on main hall. It was so nice outside!

Thursday was another good day! I ran around all day going to classes, doing homework, working the caf, and taking John John to Lexington to pick up his car. I also wore the same shoes as my friend Kat. She is awesome!

Friday was fun because it was the day that Mom and Camille showed up! They came after my classes were done and we walked around campus and then went to my room. We ate in the dinning hall and then we went to Walmart to buy stuff for the hall hang out we were having that night. We had a relaxing nail party which was a blast! Mom and Camille left about 9:30 and my girls didn't leave till I kicked them out at midnight! So fun though!

Here are some of my cute girls!

Saturday I went and picked up Mom and Camille at their hotel and we were off to Lexington for food, walking, food, walking, and more food! We got delicious tacos and ate lunch at the park. Then we walked to the gelato place! Then to a bakery and around W&L campus! It was so pretty outside and really fun! We went back to Mom's hotel so we could all take a nap :) It was the best! Then we went to dinner at cook-out! I dropped them back at the hotel and I came back to school to go to an RA activity. We decorated cookies and watched Hocus Pocus! Man, I love the RA's!

(Mom has most of the pictures... So I will have to get those)

I had ward council and then wen to lunch on Sunday. Mom and Camille came to church with me. It was a really good Sunday! We came back to my room and then ate dinner in the dining hall. We then decided to go on the parkway and then come back to my home. Reva and Cody came up to talk to Mom and after about two hours they went back to their hotel. I ended up going to Cody and Reva's house and sat and watched the last Harry Potter on TV. That movie is so great!

Im so happy Mom and Camille could be here this weekend! It was so much fun to have the see my home and meet my SVU family! I truly love it here! And I love Mom and Camille!

Homecoming! October 5-11

Monday we had a good day. FHE was fun! I sat in with a group that did a quiz game on Conference. Can we just pause for a moment and reflect again on how AMAZING Conference was!

Tuesday I went to dinner and than Reva asked if I wanted to go to the girls soccer game. So off we went. The girls played hard but lost. Somehow another HRA couple, the Tuttles, and Reva and I all went to Sheetz and got hot chocolate to warm up. Then we came back to school and watched the first half of the men's game. I ended up in Reva's room doing homework till almost 1 in the morning. It wasn't the most productive thing in the world... unless you count our Wicked sing-a-long as being productive.

Wednesday's are always the craziest days! I ran around to classes, and then took a girl to the doctor, and then came back to school, and then had dinner and my late class. Once I got back from that, half my hall ended in my room! We had a party! I really love my job!

Thursday I found out I was on the ballot for Miss SVU or homecoming royalty. I didn't want it.. haha! It was a beautiful foggy morning though!

Friday was the start of all the Homecoming excitement! We had our Homecoming choir and orchestra concert! It went really well! One of our voice teachers sang Bring Him Home with the orchestra and it was really awesome! After that Anna, Genny and I all watched Ella Enchanted. That movie is perfection! It is so great!!!!

Saturday was a crazy day full of running around! I went to breakfast to help Jared with some homework. I went into town to watch Anna dance with the irish dance club. Then we walked around all the booths set up for mountain days! I came up and spent time in Emma's room which led to the start of "Emma and Lauren's day of adventure!" We went to this amazing restaurant in Lexington than rushed back to the football game where I had to be there for the announcement of the homecoming royalty. (Kadee and Cody won! Yay!) Than Emma and I went and got gelato in Lexington and sat and ate it at this pretty park. We came back and Emma has a projector in her room, so we bought a whole bunch of treats and watched Women in Gold. It was AWESOME! Yay art!!!! Then we got ready for the Homecoming Dance. It was a great day!!

I know I have said it in almost every blog post this semester... but Sunday's are the best things ever! I love my bishop and ward council. We started training on making the sabbath a delight. It was amazing and I will be shocked if my bishop does not become a general authority someday! He is the most poetic speaker EVER! Sacrament meeting was amazing as was sunday school and relief society! I just love church!

And Conference saves the week! Sept 27-Oct 4

Lets first all appreciate this delicious treat my roommate made me and Kaylee. All it is is tortilla chips, chocolate chips, and marshmallows.

I got the wonderful and pleasant surprise of getting a package in the mail on Monday from my friend Savannah from last year. She is going on a mission and just got her call to Argentina. She sent a group package to me, Genny, Alex, and Anna. Each of us got a bag with a quote and a few goodies inside. It was the best surprise! I also had the first FHE with all the leaders in charge. It wasn't the smoothest activity, but it was good.

Tuesday I had to work the dinning hall from 1:30-4. It was crazy, but the best part of the day is that it was POURING rain! IT WAS CRAZY! And it never let up!
John John came in and turned the computer screen in the dinning hall and it took me a minute to figure out how to turn it back without breaking it.... It was mean!

Wednesday we were all going super crazy and had reached a burnt out phase. We even resorted to sleeping on benches... I also have the best girls that text me cute encouraging things all the time! They may need me, but not HALF as much as I need them!

Thursday was crazy. At 9pm we had our group RA meeting and can I just say that those are my favorite things ever!!! We all don't get to see each other that often so those meetings are prime! We could not stop laughing and our sass level was at a 10. I love my job!

Friday was like this tipping point of the burn out. I just kind of lost it... I ended up laying on Kadee's floor crying and then just sitting there for like 5 hours. Kadee and Kaylin and I decided to go to Donny Tequilla's for dinner. Its the Mexican place in town and it is really good!
This was our floor hang out :)
Saturday I stayed and watched the first session of conference in my bed and then I went to the church for the next session. After conference we went to dinner and then my girls hung out outside my room for a really long time. It was super fun! Again, they are the best!

Sunday was amazing! The first session of conference was FOR ME! It was so empowering and incredible. I felt such an overwhelming about of love and the questions that I prepared for conference were answered. It was incredible. The church is soo true!

... Sept 21-27

I am going to be honest... This week was super rough. There was a lot of RA responsibilities and things that needed to get sorted out and then there was also figuring out life and people and managing school work all at the same time! I had a break down Thursday night and almost another one on Saturday. So its time to focus on the positive and funny things that happened last week.

1. We played ward volleyball for FHE. It turned out really well until someone got hit in the face... all was good though!

2. Im grateful for John John, and two of my girls, Kaylee and Jordan, who all calmed me down on Thursday.

3. Kaylee and Jordan made me homemade pumpkin chocolate chip cookies Friday because they knew I had a rough week.

4. There was a Shenanigans show Friday which was super funny as always!

5. Saturday I went to the cross country race in Winchester VA. It was on a battlefield and they thought that it was suppose to pour rain all day, but it was perfect weather for the race. Although I missed the girls race, they all did a really good job and I was soo proud of them!

6. Cody and Reva have been super stressed out so Kadee, Kaylin and I decided to deep clean their whole apartment. It took like 6 hours but it looked great!

7. General Women's Broadcast. It was so good! I watched it after it actually aired but it was really good. President Uchtdorf for the win!

Things are good. Its been stressful but one topic that all of us keep discussing is the Lords Timing. He has a plan for all of us and we have to have open hearts and a willing mind to accept that plan. I am soooo excited for General Conference this week. Our whole campus is in desperate need of a break.
